I normally keep a separate Excel Document with this information just in case.Īlbum Names: If you have your settings set to "Prefer Local Metadata". Publishers: For some reason Publishers is not metadata that can be transferred. I learned this by accident because I like to use "Funk/Soul" as a Genre, and noticed it kept separating all of my genres as "Funk", "Soul". However if you apply a Genre typing "Electronic/Rock" Plex will identify the album as both "Electronic" and "Rock". If you apply a Genre typing "Electronic, Rock" Plex will identify the album as a single Genre. For example let's say you have an album that's both Electronic and Rock. If you want Plex to identify the Genre found in your metadata make sure you have it enabled. When creating a Music Library and want Plex to use your Metadata first, make sure to click Prefer Local Metadata. Please note, I use MP3Tag to organize all of my Music Metadata.
